You will know the definition of diversity, can name diversities and know about the dimensions and levels of diversity. You learn about the relationship between diversity and balance of power, gain an awareness of differences and variety and can deal with these themes with due respect.

You learn about how our pictures of ‚others ‘evolve as well as how stereotypes and clichés transform into prejudices which influence our thinking of ‚different and other‘ and how such assimilated information creates hierarchies and supports as well as reproduces inequalities. You will understand the connection between stereotyping and discrimination.

You will know how diversity is illustrated in picture and in language and how representations of diversity are reflected in economy and organisations. You will gain awareness of realistic and unrealistic representations and become observant of visual and linguistic presentations which promote and facilitate hegemony and hierarchy.

You learn about the meaning of diversity in organisations and to appreciate the value of interculturality and interdisciplinarity. You will realise the significance of diversity in an organisations culture, can implement and integrate diversity in an organisation and initiate a process of 'learning in an organisation', which enables growth with respect to ethical points of view and enables economic efficiency which is ethically justifiable.

You learn to successfully implement diversity/variety in teams, equip teams with diversity competence, develop a diversity culture and can create a climate of empathetic and appreciative communication. You learn to steer a process which enables cooperation between people in mixed/diverse teams.

You learn to understand interculturality and diversity as a norm and can explain both concepts. You find out about the principles of human rights and the legal situation regarding the implementation of diversity strategies and can recognise them as ethical requirements and as allowing the possibility and chance for equality and economic progress.
